This is a double sided project that I am looking to release. The first half, which will be the first ep, is "How (⸮υoY oႧ) Me" and the other half is the other ep, "New Bounce." Both are installments of my upcoming LP, "Ascension." How (⸮υoY oႧ) Me is a more somber, nostalgic display that tells the story of my broken heart and journey toward self-discovery, love and growth. After releasing generational pressure and ascending beyond relational hardships, a new found sense of freedom is what I tap into in the middle of the project, leading to a spunky "New Bounce" toward the end of my journey. Bounce features references to southern classics and legends such as "Bankhead Bounce" by Diamond and TLC and Dallas Austin's, "Crazy, Sexy, Cool." About Madisyn Elise
Madisyn, a 23 year old singer/songwriter/producer from the Soufside of Atlanta, GA (College Park), has been making waves in the city for years with her single “Blue Clues” featured on the 2019 Canal Street soundtrack and the BET "Bigger" 2019-21 show. She was on Hot 107.9’s Bullying’s Not Hot Tour, and her unreleased song “Do You? / HYDM” recently won Emory’s Got Talent during Student Programming Counsel’s October 2020 HOCOFEST. In the early stages of her career, she worked with Atlanta legends CharlieBoy Gang, Baby D and more. In high school, she won the 2017 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Int'l Songwriting Competition, being awarded with a GrammyU and personal statement from Kerry Kennedy. Her first locally and globally recognized song that she wrote when she was 12, "Crazy, Crazy," garnered her a story by CNN, Headline News and performances and stories on local news stations Channel 2 Action News and 11 Alive Atlanta & Co.
While studying Marketing and Vocal Performance at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, she met a group of creatives who she would soon work with to shift away from her previous releases for more authentic, creative autonomy. She seeks to enter a new era in her womanhood through the exploration of her music.
“Do You? / HYDM”, which will be one of the first releases from her debut project, offers nostalgia through emotive, sultry vocals and jazzy runs over a two-sided beat co-produced by her and F107 Collective co-founder, Ryan James. In the piano based song “Do you?”, she thoroughly questions an ex-lover with building resentment that bubbles over into the energetic second half, “HYDM”, which stands for How You Do Me. She recognizes the “remixed version” of patterns her ex-lover displays before using her and is progressively unveiling and unharnessing her power.
